Have you ever imagined what it would be like to see Santa Claus running? What about over 3,000 people dressed like Santa running? Well that is exactly what happened last weekend in Plano, Texas! My husband and I were among the group of Santa’s all running to support a group called My Possibilities. My Possibilities is a non-profit organization that serves adults with disabilities.
Overall, the whole event was spectacular. The race was very well organized. There were so many fun vendors and freebies too! From two different photo booths and free food samples to the Oscar Meyer Wiener mobile! It was a very family friendly atmosphere. The real Santa even stopped by to take pictures with runners and their family members. Did I mention people also brought their dogs to join in on the fun?
The event was divided into two categories. You could either run the whole 5k or you could do the 1 mile fun walk. The Santa Run kicked off with a cover of Taylor Swift’s Shake it off while all the runners and walkers warmed-up. The actual race itself was a ton of fun! After my husband and I finished the race we also finished checking out all the vendors that we were not able to see before the race. And of course we also got our picture taken with the real Santa too!
It was a really awesome day that benefited a really awesome cause. If you live in the DFW area, I highly recommend you plan on signing-up for next year’s Santa Run Texas!
